Brett Steinberg

Brett Steinberg, Founder and President of Steinberg Law, focuses his legal practice on personal injury, including motor vehicle accidents, motorcycle and trucking accidents, slip and falls, trip and falls, sexual assaults, product liability, maritime (including cruise ship accidents), and negligent security matters throughout Florida. Brett is known as a fierce advocate for his clients and possesses substantial civil litigation experience, both defending and prosecuting personal injury claims. Early in his career, Brett assisted in the trial of a lengthy asbestos exposure case in which the client was diagnosed with mesothelioma, a deadly form of cancer. That trial resulted in a $24,170,000 verdict for the Plaintiff. Recently, Brett obtained a jury verdict of $2,600,000 against a recovery center for negligently allowed one of its agents to sexually assault a client. The top offer before that trial was $20,000.

After obtaining his undergraduate degree at the University of Florida and his juris doctor, cum laude, from University of Miami School of Law, Brett’s began legal career as an Assistant Public Defender in Miami-Dade Florida, representing the accused. While working at the Public Defender’s Office, Brett handled hundreds of criminal matters and tried over 25 cases to verdict. Most notably, Brett successfully argued a motion to suppress physical evidence – several pounds of marijuana – a decision that was upheld by the United States Supreme Court.

Brett is “AV” rated by Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory, a distinction awarded to only those lawyers with the highest ethical standards and professional ability. He has also been listed as a Florida personal injury Super Lawyer since 2015. He is well recognized for his competency and experience and, since 2014, he has obtained over $25 million in verdicts and settlements for injured clients.

A South Florida native, Brett is admitted to practice in all Florida State Courts as well as the United States District Courts for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida. He is an active member of the Florida Bar, the Palm Beach County Justice Association, and the Florida Justice Association.

When not advocating for injured clients, Brett’s favorite activity is his time spent with family, including his loving wife, Laurie and his two sons, Dylan and Blake. Brett loves travel, photography and music. His passion is attending live music festivals and concerts; music, like his children, brings him joy. Brett and his wife Laurie contribute to and are heavily involved with charitable organizations that provide opportunities to under-resourced children diagnosed with Autism.
